The Ministry of Education is currently conducting a survey on Computer Literacy of students and teachers, as well as a census on the availability of Computer facilities in schools island-wide.

The survey and census is conducted with the assistance of the Department of Census & Statistics and Sri Lanka Information & Communication Technology Agency (ICTA).

The survey targets Teachers, Primary students (Grades 1-5) and Secondary students (Grades 6-13), with information collected through a questionnaire given to a selected sample from the three categories.

“Inquire from the Principal whether you have been selected for a sample. Call over at the school on the due date without fail and give correct information,” the Ministry requested.

A questionnaire regarding Computer facilities in schools will be issued to all principals and asked to provide accurate information.
“Identity of the informants will not be disclosed under any circumstances,” the Ministry said.
