A fine knock of 64 from Dushan Hettige and an unbeaten knock of 44 by Sanjula Abeywickrema helped Western Province North reach 139 runs for the loss of two wickets when rain stopped play when their innings was 26.5 overs old. This was in response to 191 posted by Southern Province which came mainly off the bat of Ravindu Sanjana who hit 69.

Sanjula also put on a valuable partnership of 107 runs for the second wicket. Western Province North players gained major honours as they won many of the individual awards on offer.

Western Province North skipper Jehan Daniel was adjudged the Player of the Tournament while Sanjula Abeywickrama, of Isipathana College, was named as the Best Batsman of the Tournament. Dushan Hettige from Ananda College was named the Best Batsman and Man-of-the-Match of the Final. Sanjula Illangathilaka was picked as the Best Bowler of the Final. Mohamed Thareef, the only award recipient outside the two finalists representing Central Province won the Best Bowler of the Tournament award.
