Inclement weather hampered the Under-19 Inter-School cricket encounters played around the island on day two forcing the umpires to call off the matches without a ball being bowled.

The first day’s proceedings in the match between Royal and Richmond at Reid Avenue had only 27 overs of play was possible with Richmond batting first making 119 for 2.

Only 38 overs was possible in the match between St. Peter’s and Joseph Vaz Wennappuwa, who made 120 for 3 when it was called off. Nalanda facing 28 overs were 62 for 6 against De Mazenod Kandana at Campbell Place.

Bandaranayake MV Gampaha were 24 for no loss off 8.3 overs against Carey at Kadirana and the match between Rahula Matara and Dharmaraja Kandy scheduled to be played at the Galle Stadium was washed out without a ball being bowled. The matches will be continued today.

Richmond 119 for 2 (Sithara Gimhan 44) vs Royal
At Bambalapitiya:
Joseph Vaz Wennappuwa 120 for 3 (Irash Perera 44: Vinu Mohotti 3 for 34) vs St. Peter’s
At Campbell Place:

At Kadirana:
