The curtain opened on “Samanalayaya 2014” as the Sunera Foundation held their annual drama festival on July 16 at the Lionel Wendt. The participants were selected from the foundation’s workshops held across the country with the objective of showcasing their creativity and talent. Leading up to the final performance in Colombo the nine regional drama festivals were held over a span of three months with over 1000 differently abled participants from 25 Sunera Foundation Performing Arts Workshops.

Evaluated by a panel of judges, this year’s best dramas were produced by Anamaduwa, Kobeigane and the Thalawa workshop participants, produced and directed by Sunera trainers. The six months of hard work and practice culminated in a night with vibrant dance routines and somersaults adding to the programme of hilarious comedy and heartfelt performances by the young actors and actresses.
