Ten Service Entry Candidates from the Executive, Logistic, Electrical, Band Master, Administrative Officer, Health and Shipwright branches of the Navy passed out at the commissioning ceremony held at the Naval & Maritime Academy (NMA) in Trincomalee on July 14. The Director General Health Services, Rear Admiral N.E.L.W. Jayasekara VSV, USP took the salute as the Chief Guest.

Deputy Area Commander of the Eastern Naval Command, Commodore Niraja Attygalle, Commandant of the Naval & Maritime Academy, Commodore Ruwan Perera, senior naval officers from the Navy Headquarters and the Eastern Naval Command, spouses, parents and well wishers were also present on the occasion.

The commissioning parade was held in keeping with age old customs and traditions of the Sri Lanka Navy. Acting Sub Lieutenant AGCP Dissanayake was selected as the best Service Entry Candidate of the batch.
