Vishalya bags the Uva shuttle double
View(s):At the Uva Province Open Badminton Tournament Vishalya Ranasinghe stole the lime light in the women’s open when she won the 
Single and Mixed Double events. This tourney was organised by the Uva Province Badminton Association and was played at the Bandarawela S. Thomas’ College courts last week-end.
Over forty men and women shuttlers took part in this tournament which was declared open by the Dr. Rohana Pushpakumara, President of the Uva Province Badminton Association. The notable feature of the tournament was veteran Neville de Silva emerging winner in open men’s doubles, over 35 doubles, over forty singles and doubles events.
Rev Fr. Christopher Balaraj, Deputy Headmaster of S. Thomas’ Bandarawela gave away the prizes for the winners at the conclusion of the tournament.
