Veteran film editor Stanley de Alwis who is suffering from kidney failure is undergoing treatment at Sri Jayawardenapura hospital. He requires an urgent kidney transplant and right now he undergoes dialysis twice a week. Mr. Alwis won a number of Best Editor awards at the Presidential and Sarasavi awards ceremonies. He won awards for Dharmasiri Bandaranayake’s ‘Hansa Vilak’, ‘Thunweni Yamaya’ and ‘Suddilage Kathawa’, Vijeya Dharmasri’s ‘Guru Gedara’, Parakrama Niriella’s ‘Siri Medura’, Chandraratne Mapitigama’s ‘Surabidena’ and Udayakantha Warnasuriya’s ‘Gini Avi Saha Gini Keli’.
