‘Ride My Wave’, a unique competition which will pit the best surfers from the country’s southern shores against their eastern counterparts, is set to see its first south coast leg of action play out from March 13-15.

The contest will feature two rounds of surfing between two 10-member teams from Sri Lanka’s south and east coast, regions of the country synonymous with the sport. The first of these will take place at designated spots along the southern coast before the battle picks up again from August 5-7 along surfing points on the eastern coast.

Each team will consist of 10 surfers, with ‘home’ competitors selecting their preferred opponent from the ‘away’ team in two 10-minute rounds. After each surfer is challenged by a different competitor on the opposing team, the side with the most points at the end of the two rounds will be declared the overall winner.
