A state initiative to promote awareness and conservation of 50 significant nature sites in Sri Lanka has received funding support from Asian Paints, the India-headquartered multinational coatings company.

Asian Paints Lanka Ltd has confirmed exclusive sponsorship of the National Corporate Social Responsibility Management Project (NCSRMP) of the Ministry of Social Welfare, under which 50 hoardings are to be erected at 13 national parks, 22 waterfalls and 15 reservoirs, the company said in a statement.

Each hoarding of 14 x 7 feet will provide valuable information to visitors to these sites, including historical and geographical data, and their significance from ecological and social standpoints.

The 3-year sponsorship by Asian Paints provides the funding for the production, installation and maintenance of these hoardings in 15 districts – Matara, Ratnapura, Nuwara Eliya, Kandy, Kurunegala, Anuradhapura, Polonnaruwa, Puttalam, Gampaha, Matale, Kegalle, Badulla, Moneragala, Kalutara and Ampara, the company said.
