Study Medicine in Europe
Blessed with the mild climates of East European region, VSMU – Vitebsk State Medical University is nestled in the beautiful country of Belarus. VSMU claims to be one of the best in the Europe and 75 years of longstanding excellence in tertiary education since its inception in 1934.
VSMU opened its doors to foreign students since 1981 and by now about 1800 foreign students have successfully graduated including 200 plus Sri Lankan students. The first Sri Lankan student graduated from VSMU and registered with SLMC in 1987 and by now there are over 200 Sri Lankan students currently studying at the university, whilst the student body amounts to 6000. All these Sri Lankan students were placed by PATHE Study Medicine, the official representative of VSMU in Sri Lanka for over 12 years.
VSMU offers the MD (Doctor of Medicine), a globally recognized medical course which spans for six years covering comprehensive clinical experience. The university has an excellent faculty of 500 competent and dedicated staff encompassing 50 professors, 150 associate professors and 70 doctors among others.The university offers four main degrees namely General Medicine in English medium (MD). PATHE Study Medicine proudly claims that all students who graduated with MD at VSMU had a 100 percent pass rate at the ERPM exam.
VSMU medical degree is fully recognized by Sri Lanka Medical Council (SLMC) as well as the medical councils of number of countries including GMC (General Medical Council) – UK, AMC (Australian Medical Council) – Australia, ECFMG (Education Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates) – US and Canada.In addition the WHO (World Health Organization) has enlisted VSMU as one of their recognized medical universities.
