development projects within the Faculty of Healthcare Sciences (Medical Faculty), the section’s Dean, Dr. K.T Sundaresan, said.

Dr. Sundaresan said that the university was going to use the funds to build a five-storied building for a special teaching unit within the hospital, to provide better infrastructure facilities and build a fully-equipped faculty to accommodate more students.

“The present Healthcare Sciences faculty is inadequate to accommodate a large number of students therefore we are hoping to arrange more facilities by building new buildings and maintaining a good standard, since the new batch will enrol in November,” he said.

He added that as the Dean of the Faculty he was also looking forward to providing students with entertainment and sports. “We are hoping to invite some popular and intellectual figures to speak at our orientation programme for the new batch in November,” he said.

Furthermore, Dr. Sundaresan said that the faculty is looking forward to bringing down more professors and lecturers from other universities as visiting lecturers. “I will be visiting some medical faculties in certain universities to bring down some academics as visiting lecturers for the betterment of the students. We also welcome retired lecturers.”
