Ratnam FC and Colombo FC who are making their debut in the Premier Championship, held each other to a two all draw in their Dialog Champions Soccer League fixture at the City League ground on Sunday. At half time the tally was 1-0 in favour of Ratnam SC.
The day’s scoring was opened in the 20th minute of play when former Sri Lanka striker E.B. Channa made a cross pass to forward Murugan Yogaraja to beat the CFC custodian Irfan.
After the change of ends, Ratnam FC held their lead until the 48th minute when forward Zakir Najeem created a gap in the Ratnam defence for CFC’s, Camerooinian left half to fire the equalizer.
Twenty minutes later, right half Niran Kanishka worked his way past the Ratnam defence and centre forward made no mistake to shake the Ratnam net and give Colombo FC a 2-1 lead.
However, CFC’s joy was short lived when Ratnam’s were awarded a free kick and mid field Tharusha Rangana’s boot did not let him down to make the score two all.
