HSBC ground SriLankan Airlines
View(s):Hong Kong and Shanghai Bank overwhelmed SriLankan Airlines by 37 points to 28 in their women’s ‘B’ division basketball fixture, conducted by the MSBA at the Otter Aquatic court recently.
At the short whistle the bankers led 22 to 13.
A. Fernando 13 points, T. Almeida 12 and R. Weerasekera 10 were the best shooters for HSBC.
For SriLankan Airlines Manori Hettiarachchi nine points and N. Fernando seven played best.
DPMC down NDB by 41 to 26
David Peiris Motor Company beat NDB Bank by 41 points to 26 in a women’s ‘B’ division basketball fixture conducted by the MSBA at the Otter Aquatic court recently.
At halftime the winners led by 25 points to 14.
P. Peramunagama was in excellent form with 24 points, while A. Abeysinghe added seven for DPMC.
For NDB Bank the main shooters were S. Fernando with 13 and A. Wickramasinghe four. (BM)
