‘A Song for the Children’
The Interact Club of Asian International School presents “A Song for the Children” – a musical evening at the British School 
Auditorium on 9th June 2013 from 7.00pm onwards. The musical evening will feature the very well known Dr. Feizal Zavahir, the Asian International School Choir and ‘Flame”
The concert is being held to raise funds for the Childhood Cancer Center of the Maharagama Cancer Institute to enable them to purchase Syringe Pumps and Pulse Oxymeters which are extremely essential for the treatment and care of these sick children.
Dr. Zavahir, is a practicing Pediatrician domiciled in Altoona, U.S.A who began singing during his childhood as he always felt a passion for music. Over the years, together with friends, he has performed at various functions in Colombo and outside Colombo until he entered Medical College. After Graduating from Medical College, Dr. Zavahir (better known as Dr. Zee) worked at the Galle Hospital before migrating to the United States of America in 1971. He completed his Pediatric residency at West Virginia University and continues to work there.
It is impossible to comprehend why innocent children have to deal with serious issues through illness when they should be living carefree lives of work and play. We can do something to alleviate their distress by assisting them to have the facilities which enable them to fight the disease and perhaps, overcome it. So, do come and sing along and support this worthy cause.
