“Investing in market research in Sri Lanka’s corporate world” is the theme of this month’s monthly meeting of the Sunday Times Business Club (STBC) tomorrow, April 29.

To be held at the host hotel, Cinnamon Lakeside, three members of the country’s marketing profession will discuss an issue that is gaining more credence amongst top companies as a good investment. The event comes a few weeks after the launch of the Market Research Society of Sri Lanka (MRSSL) with the cooperation of the leading market research agencies in the country.

The panel comprises Ravi Bamunisinghe, founder President of the MRSSL and founder of Research Consultancy Bureau (RCB) and Market Behaviour Lanka (now known as TNS); Lasantha Abeywickrama, Managing Director of Diventars Training and Symbiosis Business Partners and a past Chairman of the CIM Sri Lanka region; and Derrick Antony, Marketing Manager – Personal Care, Hemas Consumer Brands.

Presentations by the panellists will be followed by a discussion. The club is sponsored by Etisalat.
