It seems to be the felicitation season for the grand old ladies of Sri Lanka’s cultural scene.  Further recognition for Sri Lanka’s dance legend Vajira Chitrasena came her way when she was felicitated by the High Commission of India on her 81st birthday on March 15 at India House. The felicitation was in recognition of her outstanding and unique contribution to enriching India-Sri Lanka relations through the promotion of dance.

The highly talented stage, screen and tele actress Irangani Serasinghe was felicitated with the release of the publication, ‘Irangani’ written by Kumar de Silva a few days back. This is Kumar’s second effort at relating the stories of well-known fim personalities. The first was ‘Lester by Lester’.
