Singing in style
The students of the Cantabilé School of Singing will present their third concert ‘Reach-In A Singing Style’ over the last weekend of this month.

This collection of three choirs, directed by Prashalini Pieris and choreographed by Roshani Kumarasinghe, includes a wide repertoire of amateur and accomplished singers aged from an adorable five to an experienced 40.
In the past the school has presented two concerts –‘Beat It’ and ‘Sparkle’-and hope to showcase their widened versatility this time around.
The Junior choir comprises aspiring young stars aged 5-10, with the Intermediates fitting in at 10-14 and the seniors aged anywhere from 15 to 40. Overall, a staggering 90 voices will serenade you at the event.
Expect some quirky numbers, with the juniors singing hits ranging from Spongebob to Disney, the Intermediates covering Glee versions of songs among others and the seniors belting out songs by Queen, Sting and the Bee Gees. Famous numbers from musicals, Broadway classics, the semi-classical hits, jazz, acapella and pop are guaranteed to keep your feet tapping. Female Voice Choir Asteria directed by Mahen Peiris will also join the seniors on stage as guest performers.
