Mapitigama makes one more dream

Veteran filmmaker Chandraratne Mapitigama’s newest film ‘Sihinaya Dige Enna’ (Come along the dream) starring young stars in the lead roles will soon be released in Ridma circuit cinemas around the country.

Mapitigama, a director of multi-awards now brings a simple love story in the backdrop of a political setting. Shot in the the cool climate of Nuwara Eliya, Udari Warnakulasuria and Amila Abeysekara act as young lovers while senior actors like Sanath Gunatillake, Veena Jayakody, Nayana Kumari, Bandula Wijeweera and Manel Wanaguru take on the rest of the roles.

Produced by Samantha Ranasinghe with the direction being assisted by Kanishka Megasuriya and the art director as Bandula Weerasekara, the production management of the film is by Ajith Dharmapriya.

Make-up by Supun Stainwall, edited by Anusha Jayawardana, camera handled by Buddika Mangala, the music direction of ‘Sihinaya Dige Enna’ is by young musician Dinesh Subasinghe.

Famed by his award winning direction of ‘Surabidena’ which won six awards including Best Actor and Actress, Camera, Music direction and Best Supporting Actress at the cinema award ceremony, Mapitigama has a number of cinematic ventures including ‘Malata Noyana Bambaru’ , ‘Nelum Saha Samanmalee’, ‘Sathyadevi’, ‘Sathkampa’ , ‘Imaka Pema’ and ‘Hela Langa’.

Mapitigama is also well-known as a teleplay director with numerous popular teledramas to his credit.
