Mr B Premalal-Prime Lands Chairman gets Best Entrepreneur of 2011 award from Dr Mahathir Mohommed former Prime Minister at the UDC International Award Ceremony in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia recently.

Untiring efforts and penetrating vision of the master doer and Chairman of Prime Lands Group ably assisted by the Chief Executive Officer Mrs.Sandamini Perera during the period of more than 15 years, were the qualification necessary for this exemplary recognition. With the humble beginnings of Prime Lands (Pvt.) Ltd backed by a team of high spirited, committed and loyal staff has not left any stone unturned on the way to improve the prowess and increase the impact on its clientele with satisfaction which was really an undefeatable challenge to all its competitors. Today they are reasonably proud to say that they occupy number one slot in the entire real estate domain.

With their successful achievement in this sphere they are able to reach another area to provide another service in great demand for the rural folk in this country. Extending the unique vision of Prof. Yusuf Mohomad, the Nobel Prize winner from Bangladesh to empower rural women to find self-employment with the long term expectation of ushering in poverty elevated Sri Lanka.

They have been able to revive the incapacitated Ceylinco Grameen with a rejuvenating injection of Rupees One Billion to continue its vigorous aim of empowering the rural mothers and sisters of this country to provide the most needed economic strengths for the development effort of the country with the distant vision of a Sri Lanka without poverty.

Within a short period of three and half months they are very happy to state that having absorbed over 850 employees of all grades in 48 branches they have been able to disburse Rs. one billion in small loans to mothers and sisters of Sri Lanka by 14th October 2011. Thereby they continue to enjoy the satisfaction of their clients who come from the lowest strata of society and making them capable of contributing to the eradication of poverty. In this manner they have been able to enjoy the services of the first ever financial institute to have granted and continue granting small loans to self employed poor rural mothers and sisters, with the fervent hope of achieving "Poverty free Si Lanka".

Accordingly they are enjoying the admiration of about 45000 rural families who are with the facility of receiving these loans. These clients also have gradually become contributing depositors in the savings scheme introduced by the Prime Grameen. Prime Lands Group is also having another arm of service which has introduced cement based roofing tiles through their latest company Prime Designer Roofs (Pvt.) Ltd.

For all these achievements they are ever grateful to their dedicated team of employees and our admirable customer base who are indeed responsible for this pinnacle of successful achievements.
They will also not fail to be thankful to the Governor of the Central Bank, Mr. Nivard Cabraal, Deputy Governor, Priyantha Fernando, Additional Director H.M.Ekanayake and all other members of their team who have helped and guided the Prime Grameen Micro Finance Ltd.
