Ceylon Sea Angler's Club Annual West Coast Trolling Competition 2009
Anglers Trolling in February

The Ceylon Sea Angler's Club, located in the picturesque Clappenburg Bay, Trincomalee, is organizing its Annual West Coast Trolling Competition to be held on the 21st of February 2009.

The event will take place in the tranquil seas off Mount Lavinia followed by post-event activities at the Loon Tao Restaurant on the Mount Lavinia Beach.

We are proud to be the oldest and most active sport and recreational angling club in Sri Lanka which is also affiliated to the International Game Fish Association (IGFA), the controlling body of world sport fishing. Our event in 2009 coincides with our 75th anniversary celebrations and, as in the past, we plan to put on a grand show with this year's event reaching an international audience through the support of the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau. It promises to be Sri Lanka's first ever international sport fishing competition and will support the initiative of putting our beautiful island home back on the world stage of exciting holiday destinations.

The event is open to anglers and even if you've never participated in a fishing competition before, this would make the perfect start. And it doesn't stop there; this year's event will also include live music, activities for the families of the participants and spectators (including a kids play area) to make this a fun and memorable event for all.

The trophies include cash prizes of Rs. 50,000, 30,000 and 20,000 for the first three winners plus fishing tackle and many more prizes. There is also a chance to win an export quality boat valued at over Rs. 250,000 from the raffle draw. The total value of prizes for winners of the competition and the raffle draw amounts to Rs. 700,000!!! The event organizers and sponsors have many surprises in store for everyone who participates at the event.
