Bata-Sunday Times Most Popular School Boy Cricketer 2009
- Pete skipper Angelo takes off
 

Sri Lanka youth player and St Peter’s skipper Angelo Perera who led the first count with 22 votes stretched his lead further to finish with 267 votes at the end of the second count of the Bata -Sunday Times All Island Most Popular Schoolboy cricketer contest.

Angelo received 267 votes with his closest rivals Dulash Kumarasinghe of St Anthony’s Katugastota and Royal skipper Yasitha Abeykoon in the second and third slot accumulating 20 votes each.
Meanwhile Amith Tillekeratne of Sri Rahula Kandy and Malith Silva of Gateway International also retained their number one position. Amith who received 24 votes last week added a further 13 votes to end on 37 votes while there has been votes for only Malith Silva in the international schools category where he received 11 votes to finish on 62 votes.
