This degree programme will be a two year full time course in Sri Lanka. On completion of the Foundation Degree the student has the option to proceed to Kingston University -London to follow a one year top-up programme to obtain a BSc (Hons) in Aviation Studies Degree.
The course is programmed, to allow students to get practical flying experience to meet the Civil Aviation Authority of Sri Lanka requirements for Private Pilot License and Commercial Pilot License with Instrument and Multi Engine Ratings, within the two year period, in addition to the Foundation Degree awarded by the Kingston University. Furthermore, the students will be equipped to sit for the ATPL Technical Examinations and obtain a frozen ATPL.
The Foundation Degree in Aviation Studies will not only assist students to acquire theory knowledge up to the ATPL level but in addition develop their analytical skills, time management skills, team work skills and a variety of other "soft skills" expected by commercial airlines, thereby enhancing the employability of students.
