Monkey menace: What happened to initial enthusiasm to solve the issue?

All the people who voted this government into power were jubilant when they assumed duties. Anura Kumara Dissanayaka showed himself a capable leader to solve our longstanding burning problems.

One of the biggest issues our villagers face is the monkey menace. Monkeys destroy all the crops on our lands.  We informed the previous governments too but they did not take any steps to solve this problem.

As soon as this government came to power they showed a great interest in solving this issue. They carried out a census to begin with. All the people in the villages were so happy and looked forward to freeing themselves from this menace.

Now the government is
close to completing almost two years in office, but the problem remains the same. The responsible  authorities have completely neglected this menace.

The monkey population is growing rapidly and very soon they will encroach into the towns and start stealing from shops and stalls.
They become aggressive when they’re hungry and are prone to attack children and women
without any fear

I fervently hope that this government would take steps to finish the task they undertook as soon as they came to power.

Pearls of the Pearl

Surrounded by calming blue
oceans deep,

With unwavering grace and a magical breeze,

The Pearl nurtures her prized possession,

The pearls of the Pearl of the Indian Ocean!

We are trailblazers, strong and brave,

Navigating disasters and uncertain days

With remarkable resilience, among our key traits,

Forging courage through crises, to seize the sun rays.

Indelibly etched upon her heart,

Consider the Pearl wherever you are,

Our Motherland, and all
we’ve received,

May our allegiance to her
outshine the stars.

We are Sri Lanka’s pride.

Heeding her call, we need to rise,

To serve our land and beyond,
may our passion unfurl,

Of this land, we are, the pearls of the Pearl!

Indelibly etched upon her heart.

Whether we’re near or far apart,

There is a call we each must heed.

What must be done? Have I done my part?
