Pussalla exports Sri Lankan poultry
View(s):Pussalla Meat Producers (Pvt) Ltd has formally commenced structured export operations of poultry products from Sri Lanka.
This marks one of the most important milestones in the company’s journey over the four decades, as it transitions from being predominantly a local supplier to an exporter capable of meeting the demands of international markets. Pussalla has established a new international-standard chicken processing factory at Ganewatte, Kurunegala targeting the export market. The facility is currently the largest poultry processing plant in Sri Lanka by capacity and is fully automated and equipped in line with European standards. The project, launched with an investment exceeding Rs. 5 billion, overcame numerous external challenges and economic pressures to emerge as a strengthened and resilient operation, the company said in a media release.
