The 76th Battle of the Golds between St. Sebastian College and Prince of Wales College was evenly poised at the end of day two and is likely headed towards a draw at De Zoysa Stadium in Moratuwa.

Responding to Sebatianites’ first innings total of 214, the Cambrians posted 263 runs–a lead of 49 runs from the first innings, following a composed half century from Suwahas Fernando. He made 77 runs after facing 145 deliveries and hit seven boundaries to achieve this year’s top score from a batsman from both sides so far. Opener Palingu Perera scored 42 from 123 deliveries with five fours. Spinner Malintha Silva, who led the Sebastianites bowling attack, finished with figures of 5 for 100 while Koshendra Fernando picked up 3 for 82.
