Ashen’s 158 lead Police SC to formidable 412

Skipper Ashen Bandara cracked 158, inclusive of 18 boundaries and two sixes, as Police SC sat on the box seat at stumps on the second day against BRC in their SLC Major Club Super Eight cricket encounter played at the CCC ground yesterday.

Ashen, in the process, shared three valuable partnerships – 65 runs for the fourth wicket with Dhanuja Induwara, 121 runs for the fifth wicket with Vishad Randika, and 109 runs for the sixth wicket with Supun Madusanka – as Police SC replied strongly to BRC’s 180. Resuming from their overnight score of 132-3, Police SC went on to post a formidable 402. BRC, batting a second time, ended the day on 72-2.

Ace Capital, resuming from their overnight score of 338-3, went on to make 436 against Bloomfield, who ended day two on 230-3 at Dambulla. Meanwhile, NCC and Colts have already secured first innings leads over CCC and Moors SC in the matches played at Colts ground and Maggona. The matches will end today.
