Charles Henry De Soysa commemoration
View(s):The 190th birth anniversary commemoration of the philanthropist and founder of Princeand& Princess of Wales Colleges’, Charles Henry De Soysa, will be held on March 3.
The event, as has been the tradition since 1919, will begin with the laying of a wreath by chief guests High Commissioner of the United Kingdom in Sri Lanka Andrew Patrick, and former Chief Justice of Fiji Anthony Gates, two relatives of the late CH De Soysa, the two principals and representatives of the alumni.
Thereafter the statue will be garlanded by two children of family members and the head prefects of the two schools.
The wreath laying and garlanding ceremony will begin at the statue at 4 pm. This will be followed by a meeting at the Baptist Church Hall.
The keynote address will be made by chief guest Anthony Gates. The programme which will end with fellowship and refreshments at 5.45 pm.
All family members and well-wishers are most welcome and your participation is anticipated.
The ceremonies at the school and in Moratuwa will be conducted on the morning of March 3 (Monday).
