Mr. Tishan Subasinghe.

Top accountant Tishan Subasinghe was recently appointed 28th President of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (CA Sri Lanka).

“To serve as your 28th President is not merely a title, but a commitment,” he declared, after receiving the recognition. “It is a commitment to uphold the values of our esteemed profession and to dedicate my utmost effort to the institution that has shaped my own career. This role represents both the greatest responsibility and the highest honour of my professional life.”

A Fellow Member of CA Sri Lanka, an Attorney-at-Law, an MBA subject gold medallist, and a Certified Information Systems Auditor, Mr. Subasinghe’s credentials speak to a mind that refuses to be confined. His career is a tapestry of local expertise and global perspective, having served with PwC in the financial hubs of New York and Philadelphia, as well as in Botswana. He returned to Sri Lanka, driven by a love for his country, and ascended to leadership roles, including as Managing Director of Moore Consulting and Joint Managing Partner of Moore Aiyar. Prior to this role, he also served at BDO as the Partner of Audit & Assurance.

In the corporate sphere, he serves on numerous boards as an Independent Non-Executive Director, including those of a bank, an insurance company, and several other publicly listed companies. Yet his influence extends far beyond corporate boardrooms. He has served on the Sri Lanka Accounting and Auditing Standards Board and as an ex-officio member of the Securities and Exchange Commission, and has contributed to pivotal national initiatives such as the Presidential Commission on the Simplification of Laws and Regulations, as well as the Committee for the Revival of Failed Licensed Finance Companies, established by the Central Bank of Sri Lanka. Furthermore, he served on the Council of the University of Moratuwa for over five years.
