Large turnout of schoolchildren at Janaka Bogollagama Memorial Cool Inter-School Kids’ Play Day

The annual Janaka Bogollagama Memorial Cool Tennis All-Island Inter-School Kids’ Play Day 2025 began on Wednesday at the Sri Lanka Tennis Association (SLTA) courts at Greenpath, Colombo. Known as the haven for budding tennis players of the country, the five-day event this year has attracted schoolchildren from all parts of the country.

Conducted under three different categories, namely Red Ball, Orange Ball and Green Ball, the prestigious event is dedicated to nurturing young talent and promoting sportsmanship among school-level athletes across the island. The opening ceremony of the event took place amidst distinguished guests and officials of SLTA with the Western Band of Holy Family Convent, Bambalapitiya, taking the honour of welcoming the guests, players and the first SLTA event of the year. The All Island Inter-School Kid’s Play Day 2025, which commenced on January 7, will conclude today.
