Australia to support Sri Lanka tourism promo

Sri Lanka and Australia are planning on working together to carry out an effective promotional campaign.
Australian High Commissioner Matthew Duckworth during a meeting with Deputy Tourism Minister Prof. Ruwan Ranasinghe had discussed about providing Australian expertise and funds to carry out a promotional campaign for Sri Lanka Tourism.
Speaking with The Sunday Times Business Mr. Duckworth said they had discussions on the long term partnership with Sri Lankan in tourism.
He noted that Australia is keen on supporting the Sri Lankan government’s initiatives to boost productivity. Australia has been involved with Sri Lanka in ensuring the country is able to achieve the Blue Flag initiative and will support a marketing campaign for the country as well.
Prof. Ranasinghe is said to have requested this support from Australia and as a result they will be providing the necessary advice based on the learnings of Australian tourism authorities. The marketing campaign will also be carried out with funding from Australia as well as expert knowledge that will engage with Sri Lankan partners.
This campaign is expected to be carried out over a period of several years, Mr. Duckworth said.
