High tea at City of Dreams

City of Dreams Sri Lanka has launched a new high tea experience, The Grand Pâtisserie Affair at The Crystal Lounge, NÜWA . The launch, held last Saturday introduced the experience to selected guests.
The high tea offers a range of tasty treats ranging from cold sandwiches (including the classic cucumber), French onion tarts, beef sliders, mutton rolls, dumplings, seafood tempura to sweet treats– strawberry shortcake, tiramisu, hand made chocolates, gelato and many other delectable items. There were also vegan options such as eggless cakes.
The team at the City of Dreams had clearly paid laborious attention to detail - from the tempura action station dishing up freshly fried seafood to the cakes which were stored at the perfect temperature -the food was excellent. The cold beverages including iced coffee, faluda, butterfly pea tea and hibiscus tea were a hit among guests. Hot beverages such as tea and coffee are also available.
Located on Level 25, The Crystal Lounge overlooks the Colombo skyline and features crystal installations as part of its décor. The violinist playing classical favourites added to the ambience of the evening as guests sipped their coffee and savoured the delicacies while taking in the ocean view.
The high tea will be available every Saturday and Sunday from 3 – 6p.m., and is priced at Rs. 5,000 nett per person. A high tea platter by the poolside is available on weekdays. Reservations can be made at +94 76 136 5759 or through social media on Instagram and Facebook at @cityofdreams_sl.
