‘Buddy and Me’ authored by Shiranthi Perera on the unconditional love of a dog, was launched in Colombo on September 26.

The story revolves around 14 years of companionship between Buddy and his closest humans and includes his adventures, his relationships with other animals and how he took on the role of a psychologist.

“This true story captures beautiful moments of co-existence and a spectrum of human emotions and feelings of joy, sadness, surprise, fear, anticipation and trust. The insights are deeply psychological yet humane and relatable,” says Dr. Kalhari Hewage, a Clinical Psychologist attached to the United Nations.

The launch was graced by rescue dogs ‘Mango’ and ‘Lissy’, while Shiranthi made a donation to the organization ‘Tails of Freedom’ for the welfare of helpless animals.
