Champion racer Sangeeth Suriyage bolstered by McLarens
Leading motorsport athlete, Sangeeth Suriyage was bolstered by the continuous sponsorship by McLarens Lubricants, as the authorised distributor of Mobil engine oils in Sri Lanka extended their commitment to sponsorship for the third consecutive year. This partnership marks another exciting chapter in Mobil’s ongoing commitment in supporting performance and excellence in Sri Lanka’s motorsports landscape.
Suriyage’s racing career is a testament to consistency, dominance, and an unrelenting pursuit of excellence. A five-time national motorcycle racing champion, Suriyage holds the title of national fastest rider, having shattered records at premier hill climbs including Mahagastota in 2019 and 2023, Eliyakanda Hill Climb in 2020 and 2023, and the Radella Hill Climb in 2019. He also boasts all-time fastest motorcycle lap records at Pannala Circuit, Kanway Auto Drome, Radella Hill Climb, Eliyakanda Hill Climb, and Katukurunda Circuit in SM Class. Representing Sri Lanka on the international stage, Suriyage has competed in the FIM Asia SM Championship and British SM Championship. Transitioning to car racing in 2022, he clinched the Rotherham Katukurunda Championship in both the SLH 1600cc and SLS 3500cc categories in 2024. Notably, he remains undefeated at the Katukurunda Racetrack since 2016, holding the unmatched distinction of 14 consecutive national race wins a record that underscores his legacy as one of Sri Lanka’s most accomplished motorsports athletes.
