The Institute of Chemistry Ceylon (IChemC) bids a fond farewell to Dilhan Jayasinghe, who served as the Public Relations Officer (PRO) and made an indelible mark through his professionalism, commitment, and warm presence within the academic and administrative community of the Institute.

Dilhan’s journey with IChemC began as an undergraduate student in 2018, followed by the work as a Graduate Teaching Assistant (GTA), where he quickly became known for his enthusiasm and reliability in supporting academic staff and students alike. His outstanding contributions led him to take on greater responsibilities, notably as the Coordinator of the Department of Applied Sciences, where he played a pivotal role in the administration of the Diploma in Laboratory Technology (DLT) programme.

An alumnus of Royal College, Colombo, and a graduate of both IChemC and the University of Sri Jayewardenepura, Dilhan brought academic excellence and a student-centered approach to every role he undertook. As the Public Relations Officer, he served as a bridge between the Institute and its wider community, skillfully managing communications and contributing to the success of numerous institutional events and outreach programmes.

Dilhan’s calm demeanor, cooperative nature, and strong work ethic made him a valued colleague and a respected leader. Whether coordinating academic programs, assisting students, or organising high-profile events at IChemC, he consistently upheld the values and vision of the Institute.

He now steps into a new and exciting chapter, having resigned from his position to pursue graduate studies in the United States. While his departure leaves a void at IChemC, the Institute and all who have worked with him take immense pride in his achievements and future aspirations.

The Institute of Chemistry Ceylon extends its heartfelt gratitude to Dilhan Jayasinghe for his dedicated service and contributions over the years. We wish him continued success and fulfillment in all his future endeavors.
