Sri Lanka has recalled left-arm seamster Dilshan Madushanka back in to the One Day International (ODI) squad for the three-match series against Bangladesh, which is set to begin on July 2 at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. Madushanka was unavailable for the series against Australia in February due to injury, but will return to replace Lahiru Kumara, who is currently reported injured.

Uncapped allrounder Milan Rathnayake, who has appeared in five Test matches for Sri Lanka, has been included in the 16-man ODI squad, depending on his fitness after he was sidelined for the second Test at the SSC due to a side strain.

Another notable returnee is wicketkeeper cum batsman Sadeera Samarawickrama, whose last appearance for Sri Lanka was in November 2024 and was shelved due to his poor form. He makes in for Nuwanidu Fernando. Fast bowlers Eshan Malinga and Asitha Fernando retain their places in the ODI squad, which includes four allrounders – Kamindu Mendis, Wanindu Hasaranga, Dunith Wellalage and skipper Charith Asalanka. The second ODI will be played in Colombo on July 5 before shifting to Pallekele on July 8.

Sri Lanka ODI squad: Charith Asalanka (Capt), Pathum Nissanka, Avishka Fernando, Nishan Madushka, Kusal Mendis, Sadeera Samarawickrama, Kamindu Mendis, Janith Liyanage, Dunith Wellalage, Wanindu Hasaranaga, Maheesh Theekshana, Jeffrey Vandersay, Milan Rathnayake, Dilshan Madushanka, Asitha Fernando, Eshan Malinga
