MasterChef Sri Lanka, the latest international edition of the globally recognised culinary reality show is scheduled to air on ITN on September 20, it was announced at the launch at the Cinnamon Grand on June 26.
The series will feature 22 contestants selected from various parts of the country who will compete over the course of 25 episodes. The winner will walk away with the prize money of three million rupees, a luxury BYD vehicle, and the maiden MasterChef Sri Lanka title.

The judging panel includes chef and television personality Peter Kuruvita, former MasterChef Australia contestant Savindri Perera, fine dining specialist Rohan Fernandopulle, and culinary trainer Kapila Jayasinghe.
The show is produced by Reality TV Productions in association with Nilendra Deshapriya Productions. This version marks the 71st international adaptation of MasterChef. This first edition of MasterChef Sri Lanka focuses on home cooks rather than professionals. The format encourages participants to prepare regional and traditional dishes, aiming to reflect the country’s culinary diversity.
Applications for Sri Lankan citizens between the ages of 18 and 55 are open until July. Those interested can register via the official website, masterchefsl.com.
