Apna clinch 110th Colombo Championship Men’s Open title

View(s): Apna Perera clinched the Men’s Open Singles title of the 110th Colombo Tennis Championship when he defeated Ashen Silva in straight sets in the final played at the SLTA tennis courts in Greenpath, Colombo yesterday. Apna was given a close battle in the first set by Ashen, who dragged the setter way beyond the eventual winner would have imagined, as he braced to record a close 7-5 win. But in the second setter, Apna changed his grip to completely overpower Ashen by 6/1 on his way to record an easy win. The championship will continue today.
