A three-day joint operation of the army intelligence officers and the Police Special Task Force (STF) officials have rounded up a six-acre cannabis cultivation within the Yala National Park.

After spending nearly three days in Yala national park, on Wednesday, November 20 the team had arrested three individuals in connection to the cultivation and handed them over to the Gonagan Ara area police. The cannabis cultivation with seven-feet tall plants was burnt down. The suspects were produced in the Monaragala Magistrate courts and were released on Rs. 20,000 bail each.
