Entries called for Uva Open
Excitement is building as applications are now officially called for the highly anticipated Uva Provincial Open Badminton Championship. Hosted by the Uva Province Badminton Association under the close supervision of the Sri Lanka Badminton, this championship promises to be a highlight on the badminton calendar.
Scheduled to take place from January 12 to 18, the tournament will unfold at St. Thomas’ College Indoor Badminton Stadium in Bandarawela and the Badulla Shuttlers Badminton and Table Tennis Academy courts.
As a key event recognised for Sri Lanka Badminton rankings, the Uva Province Open Badminton Championship welcomes participants across various categories. The championship will see competitions conducted under the Open, Senior and Junior age groups. Juniors will compete under age groups Under-11, 13, 15, 17, and 19 Boys and Girls Singles and Doubles events. The senior category offers Men’s and Women’s Singles and Doubles, along with Mixed Doubles across various age brackets, including Over-30, 35, 40, 45, 50, 55, 60 and 70.
Many prizes await the champions, including cash rewards, trophies, and certificates. Generously sponsored by Mcfoil, Mobil, GAC, Li-Ning and 3M, the Uva Provincial Open Badminton Championship is set to be a thrilling showcase of action on the courts.
