To cut costs, defence function moved to venues run by security forces
View(s):The Galle Dialogue, a popular event attended by security forces and defence personnel from other countries, has so far been held at hotels in Galle or Colombo.
However, considering the high cost and the expenses this time there is likely to be a change in the venue with the available facilities of the Armed Forces. Among the proposals are to hold the event at the recently opened multi-functional hall of the Sri Lanka Navy at Welisara, or Eagle’s Lakeside Aththidiya or Eagle’s Lagoon View at Katunayake, both operated by the Sri Lanka Air Force. The high cost of transport if the venue is in Galle and the hotel expenses has been taken into consideration. The event is scheduled to be held on October 12 and 13.
