Soul Sounds Academy in concert for GFS
View(s):The Girls’ Friendly Society (GFS) presents “On with the Show” directed by Soundarie David Rodrigo and featuring the Soul Sounds Academy Vocal Department on June 2, at the Bishop’s College Auditorium at 7.30 p.m.
The show is a fundraiser for the GFS Hostel Building Fund and various projects carried out in different parts of the island primarily with women and girls.
Since 1957, the GFS Hostel for working girls has been providing safe, subsidized accommodation to low income girls who come to the city from the outstations for employment. To meet the ever increasing demand, the Society has begun renovating the present Hostel to provide better facilities for working girls.
Tickets for the concert are available at the Soul Sounds Academy, 57/2 Kassapa Road, Colombo 7 from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. on weekdays and 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturdays. SLT/Mobitel and Acorn Travels are gold sponsors and Watawala Tea is a silver sponsor for the show.
