CMA Sri Lanka Achieves Milestone With Speechcraft Student Batch 36

The Institute of Certified Management Accountants of Sri Lanka the National Professional Body for the Management Accounting Profession completed the 36th batch  Speechcraft programme to improve communication skills and leadership development which is a part of the Apex Final year programme for  all CMA students.

The CMA Speechcraft programme has been tailor-made to empower the students of CMA to overcome the fear of public speaking, to become a competent speaker and an outstanding leader under the direction of the course director TM Dian Abeywardena with guided keynote presentations delivered by senior Toastmasters  on ‘Positive thinking and fast tracking career path growth’, ‘Time management and Teamwork’, ‘The impact of IT in the Accounting profession’ among many other keynote presentations on how to become a competent, award winning speaker and presenter.

The CMA Accountants are trained for professional leadership, self-discipline, ethical behaviour and specific attributes for leadership and role play in the corporate and social environment.

The final awards presentation meeting was held Saturday, 29th April 2023 at the CMA Auditorium with the President of CMA Sri Lanka Professor Lakshman R. Watawala gracing the occasion as the Chief Guest. Prof. Watawala congratulated the speech crafters on an outstanding performance delivering exceptional speeches inspiring the audience and showing leadership qualities.

Mr. L.B. Wattegedara (Consultant CMA), Mr. Ruchira Perera (Council Member), Mr. Intikab Bin Ali (CEO CMA), Mr. Chandana Samaraweera (Founder President -CMA Toastmasters Club), gave away the certificates with Mr. Shemal Fernandopulle (President CMA Toastmasters Club) in attendance conducting the Awards ceremony segment presented by the Course Director Mr. Dian Abeyewardene.

The Awards Ceremony was immaculately conducted and was followed by the best entertainment provided by any of the Speech Craft batches with the members singing a medley of songs in English Sinhala and Tamil. A fellowship lunch concluded the milestone reaching batch 36 of the CMA speechcraft programme.
