J’Pura Uni’s ‘Mezclar 2023’ fosters collaboration between industry and academia
View(s):The Faculty of Engineering, University of Sri Jayewardenepura, organised an event called ‘Mezclar 2023’ recently, aimed at bridging the gap between industry and academia, and to foster collaboration between the two sectors.
Dr Thilaksiri Bandara, Dean Faculty of Engineering welcomed guests, and guest of honour Prof Upul Subasinghe, the Vice Chancellor, addressed the gathering.
Chief guest, Minister of Industries Dr Ramesh Pathirana also delivered a speech, highlighting the importance of policies that foster sustainable economic growth with industry and academia.
Throughout the day, industry leaders and academic experts shared their experiences and insights, forging new relationships and strengthening existing ones between academia and industry.
The event featured sessions focused on the key areas of collaboration, where industry leaders along with academic experts presented at each session. The main industry partner for the event was Hayleys Energy Services Lanka (Pvt) Ltd.
The event also showcased the impressive and skilled students of the Faculty of Engineering.
