Interact Club holds ‘She Aspires’ Awards
View(s):The Interact Club of Colombo North organised a ‘She Aspires’ Awards which recognised the contribution of women in different aspects of society.
The awards ceremony was held at the Galadari Hotel on Saturday March 4. HNB Chairperson Aruni Goonetilleke was present as chief guest.
The award recipients were: Youth – Seya Uralagamage, Business and Entrepreneurship – Shafra Careem, Science and Innovation – Hemavaruni Fernando, Education – Janaki Rupasinghe, Sports – H B Imashi Himaya Herath, Arts and Entertainment – Falan Andrea, Media – Dasuni Athauda, Law – Naushalya Rajapaksha, Medicine – Dr Shanika Arsecularatne and Social Services – Jayanthi Kuru Utumpala.
Keynote speaker Senela Jayasuriya – CEO and Founder of Women Empowered Global, guest of honour Lasika Jayamaha, President Elect, Rotary Advisor Past President Marshad Barry, District Interact Representative Past President Julian Fernandopulle, Club President Tania de Silva, Secretary Nevada Anushri, Project Chairperson Nethinie Illankoon and members were also present.
