Applications called for undergrad and postgrad schols offered by Indian Govt.
View(s):Applications have been invited from eligible Lankans for the award of 95 undergraduate scholarships and 5 postgraduate (PhD) scholarships offered by the Government of India under the Nehru Memorial/Rajiv Gandhi Scholarship Scheme for the academic year 2023/24.
Candidates should be citizens of Sri Lanka within the age limit of 18-30 years by March 8, 2023 for the Undergraduate Scholarship Programme.
Applicants should have obtained a minimum of three passes at the GCE A/L Examination in the relevant fields of study, possess a sound knowledge of English with at least a ‘C’ pass in English at the GCE O/L Exam and ‘S’ pass at the GCE A/L Exam.
Fields of study involve Engineering (BE/B Tech), Science, Business, Economics, Commerce, Humanities and Arts under the Nehru Memorial Scholarship Scheme, along with Information Technology – Bachelor of Engineering (BE) and Bachelor of Technology (B Tech) under the Rajiv Gandhi Scholarship Scheme.
Students who wish to apply for Engineering (BE/B Tech) subjects can only apply for one scheme; either the Nehru Memorial Scholarship Scheme or Rajiv Gandhi Scholarship Scheme.
Candidates should not be registered or following a course at a State university in Sri Lanka as an internal student, and should be in good condition and willing to live in India during the study duration.
For the Postgraduate (PhD) Scholarship Programme, applicants should be between 18-45 years of age by March 8, 2023 and should hold a Bachelor’s plus Master’s Degree in the relevant field of study from a recognised university. Applications are requested to be submitted through the Institute Head if the candidate is a government sector employee, whilst other applicants can forward their applications directly. Fields of study include Engineering, Science, Business, Economics, Commerce, Humanities and Arts.
It should be noted that the ICCR Scholarship Council does not arrange admission in Medical/Paramedical (Nursing/Physiotherapy/Anesthesia etc) Fashion Design and Law.
The deadline is March 8. Only one application can be submitted via the online portal; applications sent by post will not be entertained.
