Prima join hands with SLC to uplift junior cricketing talent in Sri Lanka
Prima has come forward as the sole sponsor for the Under-15 Sri Lanka Youth League (SLYL) Inter-District and Inter-Provincial Tournament organised and structured by the Sri Lanka Cricket National Talent Pathway Programme with the objective of identifying youth cricketers with potential at an early age.
The Prima Under-15 SLYL 2022 Tournament’s provincial level 50-over match series commenced on November 21 with the participation of youth cricketers selected from district level and will be competing in five teams namely, Galle, Colombo North, Colombo South, Kandy and Dambulla in 10 matches at Mercantile Cricket Association grounds and Nationalised Services Grounds in Ratmalana.
The final match of the Prima Under-15 SLYL 2022 Tournament will take place on Tuesday. The players were selected by the SLC district and provincial coaches, under the supervision of the Junior National Selection Committee.
Prima Group Sri Lanka has been the official sponsor of Prima Under-15 SLYL Tournament, which was formerly known as Prima Champions Cup, during the last 12 years, which had paved the way for thousands of young cricketers to represent their district and subsequently, their province. Many talented cricketers from past and present, who represent the national cricket team have had their beginnings at this tournament.
