Dinesh Kavishka of Vidyartha College, Kandy and Vishakian Hansani Piumila made the Junior National Table Tennis Championships 2017 a memorable event when they were crowned the Most Outstanding Players the in the Boys and Girls categories respectively at the nationals concluded at the Kandy Municipal Council Indoor Stadium last weekend.

The two up and coming paddlers won the Boys and Girls Under 18 Singles titles. Kavishka defeated Nimesh Ranchagoda of Royal College 3-1 while Piumila scored an easy 3-0 win over Maleesha Shalindi of Karandeniya Central College to win the Under 18 Singles Junior national titles.
Over 550 young table tennis players competed in this highly competitive event organized by the Table Tennis Association of Sri Lanka which was worked off in four age groups for boys and girls in singles, doubles and mixed doubles events.

Additional Secretary, Ministry of Plantation Industries, Janaka Dharmakeerthi graced the occasion as Chief Guest and distributed the awards.
