The project is to be completed in 2017 and aims to bring down the monthly cost of around Rs. 10 million.

The MOU was signed by SLRC chairman Ravi Jayawardena and the Sustainable Energy Authority chairman Keerthi Wickremaratne.

At the signing of the MOU ministers Gayantha Karunathilake, Ravi Karunanayake, Ranjith Siyambalapitiya, Mano Ganeshan, Karu Paranavithana and Ajith P. Perera participated.
