Asiri Perera and Tso Roshan were best friends in school owing to their similar taste in music. Back then the two young musicians could only dream of playing in a band and the music they would make.  They randomly reunited 6 months later after graduation and Asiri joined  first as a bassist and later on Deva Onel the current drummer accompanied them. That’s how the band came to be. When picking a name they came up with many but finally ended up with “Fallen Kids” because of the crazy but fun things they’d been through during their school years.

Their main genre is Pop Punk, however they haven’t limited themselves and delved into a few others as well including alternative rock, power pop, acoustic etc. “We never chose a genre, the genres chose us. I write the songs and work on it first according to what’s in my head so we take it as the way it comes. The songs I write are based on my personal life experiences, and that’s what we play. Sometimes it’s simple, sometimes it’s complicated, sometimes it’s fun, and sometimes it’s sad. Our songs are mainly focused on little things in life like heartbreaks, and good times with friends, having a bad day at work. So in our music even though the lyrics are coming from my personal experiences there’s always a message in there like, if you miss someone you’re not alone or, don’t be afraid to take a chance and always hold on to the good times. I hope our music would be somewhat of a helping hand for people who are feeling d own. At least that’s our goal for the future,” elaborated Roshan about their song compositions. The band’s current lineup consists of Asiri on bass, Deva on drums and Roshan on vocals and guitar.
The band has been inspired by many  artists, including Simple Plan, Blink 182, All Time Low, Linkin Park, Goo Goo Dolls .

“Music plays a huge part in all of our lives. And as artists, it’s a one of a kind experience we get when we play together. And it’s even more when we play in a concert. We love the shows,” said Roshan.

They released their debut single “Crashed On Me” in May 2016 and an acoustic EP called “Trash” in October and along with it, they released their first music video for the first single off that album, “Mary Jane.”

This year they plan on  releasing  many songs and videos .

When asked about the best experience in their musical journey thus far they said “Every show has its own amazing experience but thankfully so far no incidents. But knowing us I think many fun incidents are yet to come.”

Apart from the band Roshan plays solo part time, Asiri works at the airport and Deva works at a textile garment factory. Their ultimate goal and dream is to reach an international level.

The band remarked that they were thankful for the support recieved from their fans thus far.  “We’ve had so much support from our fans always putting the word out, Sharing our music with their friends, encouraging us with messages.”
