Rumal Intikab of Royal College defeated his schoolmate Virunaka Hendahewa in straight sets, while Dewmini Weerasena of Musaeus

The winners and runners-up.

College downed Chamathsara Fernando of Visakha Vidyalaya in a three setter to emerge the Under 18 boys and girls champions at the Western Province Open Ranking Table Tennis Championships, which was conducted by the I and D Table Tennis Academy at S. Thomas’ College Indoor Stadium recently.

In the open category, Hansani Kapugeekiyana of Visakaha Vidyalaya defeated Chamathsara Fernando in a four setter to pocket the women’s singles, while Milinda Lakshitha of SLAF had his hands full before he eventually got past Rohan Sirisena of the SLAF in a four setter to take the men’s title.
